My biggest concern with polls is, while it may be nice for members to see who is in the lead, with how few are voting how would it make the nominees (and members I guess) feel knowing that a person might win on as little as 4 votes?
Here's the thing.... Any smart member of this forum already knows that we have at most 15 active members including the admins? And that is at this point I feel like that is stretching it (though perhaps in the timeline of a few weeks we would hit that number regularly) I've not been on in almost a month. I have noticed we've gotten at least one newer active member in that time which is fantastic.
But anyone that does the math can guess that the generally voting membership is going to be very very low if we only have active members in a 2 week span. If admin nominees are expecting to see fifty or more votes when we've also literally dropped from 5 to 3 admins I'd dare say they are delusional and probably not well suited for it if they're feelings are going to get hurt that they only got 4 votes and that was enough to get an admin seat. Literally the max vote they could get is 15, maybe up to 17 with lurkers that don't actually sign in... for 3 admins they likely would get 4-6 votes to get in just doing basic math of top vote is 6 mid vote is 5 and low vote is 4.

So, a lot has happened this past month or so and I wanted to ensure you all that despite everything that has been going on this was never forgotten. Feedback is crucial. And we encourage you to speak up if you have any concerns/questions/suggestions.
I have tried to collect all the suggestions made and I know some were already discussed in this thread.
In no particulat order:
- Different way of voting: Well we seem to be trying that out now, so give Narv feedback on how it is!
- Choice whether to show points or not
- Add location and birthday to profile
- Bring back requesting for threads to be opened
- Upping the point threshold (to what seems to be a debate of its own)
- Term limits for admins
- Improving transparency
- Sharing the admin pledge: Done
- Cookies
- Fewer threads, with time limits
- Volunteering for the admin position as an alternative to having members send in nominations
- More dwarves
- Sil games
- Admins could post a regular 'virus' type update
What we cannot do:
-Delete our own posts. Not that Narv wants to keep it from you, its a feature with PhPBB unfortunately.
If I missed anything, let me know!
Now obviously all of this is not going to get dealt with or discussed immediately, but perhaps we can pick out a few of them? The ones people are most passionate about? And of course we will be waiting for the new admins to get chosen as well :)
But I just want to thank all of those who responded, again. Voicing your opnion IS valuable and keeps it in the hands of the people and not just with the admins.
I dont want to make a seperate thread for this: MotM and ATRs are not forgotten, obviously waiting for my new colleagues to help me with that :D
