help, white-tree friends! (and others) It was established there's most likely a sewer system of some sort in Minas Tirith, right? (as per this thread: viewtopic.php?t=903 ? and maybe some other mention somewhere?) I need to confirm for a certain story involving someone up-to-no-good of course. :grin:

My two cents: Sewer-system is a yes. I just imagine that it would be very difficult to traverse unless there are specific access points and stairs built in, due to slopes. Easy to go down (though nasty) but difficult to climb up through most portions.

Windy - excellent! :grin:

Karis, I assume for upkeep and maintenance, there'd have to be at least some access points, but good thought! I don't know yet if anyone will actually be entering the sewers anyway...here's hoping not for their sake, but we'll see.

As we wrap up the celebrations of Thanksgiving here in the U.S., I wanted to take the opportunity to mention how thankful I am for this community and the friends both old and new. It is a hobby that I don't always have the time to indulge in, but it continues to be a wonderful place to share life by creating story together. Even when I don't have time to write I enjoy stopping in to skim posts and catch up on storylines. Some time last week would have been the anniversary of my joining the plaza some twenty years ago as a lonely exchange student in Bangor, Wales. You have definitely become part of my chosen family/friend group no matter how much or how little we chat. Love to you all.

Ah Karis, that is truly a lovely post. Thank you! <3

@Pele Alarion @Lantaelen @Ercassie @Rillewen @Winddancer :
Attend! I am getting ready to close the Midsummer thread (gah, almost midwinter, innit?). I think most storylines have run their course, but just in case: do any of you still wish to finish any storylines? Let me know. If I don't hear anything from anyone the next couple of days, I'll be closing the topic. :-) Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up @Arnyn :smooch: And thankyou so much for such an entertaining and eventful thread. Drama and fun ! :clap:

I've chased almost all of my characters out of there now. But have still to finish one little plot point with @Rillewen which I need her confirm on first before I post. That will then be the last post from my end at least, and can hopefully be up later today. :wink:

Rillewen: You posted about sort of family in the adoption thread, but probably you haven't checked there. Do you need someone to play in return or was it just a small joke? I don't mind if it was. Let me know if you were serious or not? :confused:

I saw your post there but it didn't look like you were quite serious so I wasn't sure.

It's not really a family, per se. They're a group of bandits who all live together.. I guess they are kind of like a dysfunctional family of sorts. The characters that are mine are related to each other but the rest are just random outlaws/ruffians/thieves/murderers/etc
So if you have a (human) character who's a bad guy and you want to join them, that's fine. But don't feel you have to make up people just to join my bandits. I'm looking for people who genuinely want to play some criminal types causing trouble and harassing travelers and such.

Rillewen: Well then we both misunderstood each other a bit. I have no problem to create a convenience character. Outlaw or ruffians are quite fun. Maybe someone from the gutters of Minas Tirith? A female character perhaps who stole since childhood and lived on the streets?

They are based in the North. I'm not even sure why you're using the Minas Tirith ooc thread for this. They would be mostly harassing travelers in the area of Bree and surrounding areas.

*shakes head* I had no idea that far north, and assumed on the highways of Gondor to Umbar or Dol Amroth area? I searched around the Mordor and Gondor forums, but found nothing. I thought to post here as it is your homebase, being Gondorian. To Imladris then...

Sadly there isn't an option for the Lone Lands anymore or that would be my "home base" as you call it. Everyone is mostly active in Gondor so that's where I am but I prefer the lone lands area.

It's listed under Imladris, for some reason. I haven't had a chance to use my bandits anywhere so far. I'm not sure how long it will be before I have time to write them anyway, so this is more of a future thing I guess, for when there are enough interested parties to actually have fun with it.

Ohhh I see. You posted not anything of them yet. The Lonelands area, hmmm yeah good choice. Noted for the future. Nah I thought it was a semi private RP but okay. I hope you gather up enough writers to have the fun and running it. Thanks for the info. :thumbs:

I have been struck with an idea to create a character called "The Tower Tortoise." It is exactly what it says on the tin. A tortoise that is walking around the Minas Tirith levels and streets RP area, presumably during peacetime though I suppose it would do its best to camouflage as a rock during the Siege of Minas Tirith. Something light and adding some tortoise representation in a Middle-Earth overrun with geese. Of course, the tortoise will not be drinking Dr. Pepper. I am not sure that is entirely healthy for it. If I ever play this character, feel free to interact with it as you wish.

@Arnyn glad you like it!

@Rillewen If you were unable to infer, Tata found his way to Minas Tirith by hopping on a wheelbarrow or other vehicle of some sort carrying rocks to Minas Tirith. The driver may or may not have been drinking on the job.

if anyone's interested or would like to, please feel free to react to/use the barrow-wights loosed upon the North Downs in February 3019 TA in your story. Renhir freed them and has fled the scene in the Arnor thread. I/he won't be doing anything more with them, so you may do whatever you like but please don't hurt the wolfies. :smile:

There's Dragon Smoke Afoot

As a steady hum ruminates about the the Pelennor, a short, stout fellow comes stumbling in through the great gateway into the fortress city of Minas Tirith. He is definitely not Gondoran, and yet, despite clearly having travelled down the North-way, most certainly not Rohirrim or Dunlander either.

Local Gondorans watch the stranger gamboling across the market square, he desperation becoming more and more apparent. As he approaches, they gradually realise this is not only not a Rohirrim, nor a Dunlander, but seemingly not of any strictly "man" race, being far too short for his obvious age, and carrying as much curly black hair upon the tops of his bare feet as upon his head.

"Drag... Drag..." the Hobbit pants, as he comes to a stop, "Dragon... Smoke." And collapses upon the cobble stones.

In his pocket is found a note; "Dear stranger, you, or perhaps one or two of your fellow countrymen, (if you would care to suggest any), are cordially invited to an RPG in The Shire, home of this poor exhausted hobbit sent league upon league to enlist the help of any who would be interested.
"Should your interest, or that of your aforementioned countrymen, happen to have been piqued, kindly travel, at your soonest convenience, to The Green Dragon Inn, c/o the thread - "The Farthings and Beyond - Shire Free RP." There, agreements and handshakes may be made with one Periantar, hobbit, adventurer and all round nice guy.
"Yours sincerely, in presumption of your acceptance and due pleasure,
"Periantar, Esq."
Periantar:
I am a multi facited hobbit, for I am a gardener;
a leader, hobbit second regiment of the HDS;
and fireworks meister of TISAPA.

Aikari, of course, you are absolutely welcome to write something based on my post(s). I don't plan to actively participate in the story, though, so you will be writing on your own or with someone else if they want to join. Sorry if that wasn't clear before. Lailyn: Well that was some feat you have written on Rendir. I read through all the posts of Mantle of Shadow. A scorceress, a failed Ranger and the shrouds of darkness. Took me a little hour to read all the posts. Catching barrowwights won't come easy and put them back where they belong. Do have those wolves special powers? Can they understand speech? Or are they just wild wolves?

Aikari, Yes, the wolves can understand speech. They were once humans, who were turned into wolves (so sort of like were-wolves) by Mina. In my head, Mina is a maia but I didn't state that anywhere in my posts. They were under a spell of Mina's and forced to do her bidding, but were freed from that when Renhir killed her. Unlike typical were-wolves and wolves portrayed in ME, these wolves are not evil (I love wolves and don't want to see them maligned anymore) and I'd prefer them to go live happy and free wolf lives. :smile:

I suppose the only thing to know is I'd rather it not be widely known that Renhir was involved in the wights being freed.

Let your imagination run wild and follow your inspiration! I look forward to reading your post(s). :winkkiss:

Lailyn: Oh wonderful, glad I asked. Speaking wolves, that is going to be interesting. They won't be maligned by me. I had my suspicions Mina was a bit more than she appeared to be, with the powers and so on. I'll do my best with Utchuk. :lol:

@The Occultated

So.. I'm a little confused. When you say that cael stole one of tras' semi-filled mugs.. what are you referring to? cause he had one he was working on and one that kaylin just spilled on the floor, which is the one cael had sent over.
if she took the one that he had only just set down, there isn't much left in it.

also, just wanna mention that tras had drank down a couple of mugs before cael even entered the place. Just saying :P

Ah, sorry, I must have misread it when I was writing, let's just go with "Cael thought it was Trastion's but honestly it could have been anyone's since there were so many half filled mugs on the table at that point" :lol:
