"Give us a chance; let it give us a chance, my preciouss —
ss-ss."

It is a good riddle, @Eamila Bolger. It has me pulling my beard. But I will get it. Wait and see. No hints, please. :)

I like this guess @Eldrith! It's a good one, but not yet the answer to this riddle.

Okay, time to guess. Thanks for your patience, Eamila!

Are you Henneth Annûn, Window of the West, who few have seen and who sheltered the Gondorians (and Frodo and Sam for a time)?

Yes!!! That is indeed who I am, hurray!! I hope you had fun puzzling.

Those who know me, praise my beauty - only those who know of Henneth Annûn and who have been there, know of it's beauty.
My splendor is clear, but not always seen - you can see right through the waterfall (clear) and it's splendor can be seen by daylight/sunset but not at night when no light reflects in the waterfall.
Those who seek me, find protection - indeed the warriors of Gondor with Faramir and Frodo and Sam found refuge here.
Yet it's not the royal who on me lean - Faramir is the son of the steward, not of a King.

Your turn for a new one, @Drífa!

Cool! I finally cracked it! It was the first thing I read that finally had some link to your riddle. Thanks, Eamila!

I believe this riddle will require a short period with your thinking caps on, hahaha.
We live many a year and
long are our memories.
And to our children
We bequeath acuity
Though in youth we were
many, now we are few
Still, we do not forget
ancient history.

Who are we?

Yay! But if it hadn't been for Arothir, I wouldn't have guessed it. So as far as I'm concerned, @Arothir it's your turn if you would like to make up the next riddle!

Since @Eamila Bolger mentioned needing to not be quite as active for a little while, would ya'll mind if I kickstart this again a few months later with a new riddle? @Arothir
